Department Profile:
Hooghly Women’s College has been established in the year 1949. The Department of Education of this college started its journey right from the year 2007. B.A, General course in Education was started in the year 2007. B.A, Honours course in Education was started from the year 2013. Total number of sanctioned teaching posts of the department is one. At present, there is only one full-time teacher, and three SACT (State Aided College Teacher) are in this Department, Dr. Md. Faruk Mallik (Assistant Professor, Stage-II, and HoD), Mrs. Sovana Shi (SACT-II), Mrs. Gulson Khatun (SACT-II) and Mr. Avishek Kar (SACT-I). Currently, Major and Minor course are conducted by the Department.
Apart from conducting usual teaching-learning activities in Education (Honours and General courses), the department carries out other activities which include Add-on course, Educational tour, organizing quiz and debate competition and seminars. The department has a small seminar Library. The students can borrow books from the departmental Library by depositing their Library card. |
